For twenty years, Mr. Holm has also been President of the Philadelphia Chapter of Classical America, an organization based in New York that nourishes the classical spirit in the arts of our nation. In November 2002, the national organization of Classical America formally merged with The Institute of Classical Architecture to become known as The Institute of Classical Architecture and Classical America (ICA/CA), preserving all programs of both organizations and greatly expanding the outreach and effectiveness of each. In Philadelphia, ICA/CA has provided courses in Classicism, tours and various related programs over the years. It also regularly presents a lecture series at Carpenter's Hall in association with the Carpenter's Company of the City and County of Philadelphia, a guild founded in 1742 and still going strong. The lectures are co-sponsored by the Joseph Fox Bookshop. The Pennsylvania Academy of the Arts has also co-sponsored events with ICA/CA. Inquiries about ICA/CA may be made to this office by e-mail or by phone at 215.963.0747 and fax at 215.963.9950. |
